Michaela Mayrhofer-Iro

Michaela Mayrhofer-Iro has built a strong career in medical affairs and regulatory affairs within the pharmaceutical industry. Michaela began their journey at RBPS-Technologies as a Senior Scientist before moving on to roles at Abbott as a Medical Affairs Manager and later at AbbVie as the Immunology Head of Medical Affairs. Michaela then joined Die Grünenthal Gruppe as the Head of Medical, Pharmacovigilance, and Regulatory Affairs in Austria. Currently, they hold a leadership position at Almirall as the Head of Medical Affairs for Austria & Switzerland, showcasing their expertise and progression in the field.

Michaela Mayrhofer-Iro began their education at the University of Vienna, where they completed their Magistra rerum naturalium in Microbiology and Genetic in 2003, followed by a Ph.D. in Mikrobiologie und Immunologie in 2007. Michaela then pursued a Master of Science in "Pharma Management" and a Master of Business Administration in Health Service Management from the Universität für Weiterbildung Krems from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, they also completed a Project Manager Professional accreditation from PMI and a Quality Management accreditation from the Institute of Quality Austria. Michaela later obtained qualifying examinations in manufacturing and wholesale of drugs and poisons as well as for production, preparation, and rental of medical devices from WKO in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
