Benny Garfinkel

Benny Garfinkel is a Principal Scientist at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals since July 2021, previously holding roles as Senior Scientist and Scientist. With a strong research background, Benny conducted postdoctoral work at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from December 2016 to July 2021, focusing on macrophage inflammation and atherosclerosis within the Hotamisligil lab. Prior to that, Benny was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroscience at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences from June 2015 to December 2016, analyzing lipid and miRNA profiles in neurodegenerative diseases. Benny's academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, complemented by a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard Extension School. Additionally, Benny has experience in academic teaching and has successfully acquired research funding throughout a career marked by international collaborations and significant contributions to the field.
