Murtaza Cherawala

Murtaza Cherawala is an accomplished IT leader with extensive experience in data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as Sr. Director at Alnylam since July 2019, Murtaza emphasizes strategic partnerships and a high-performance culture focused on delivering business outcomes. Previously, as Director of Information Technology at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Murtaza transformed the IT department into a key strategic partner. Murtaza’s career includes notable roles at Biogen, where Murtaza significantly reduced IT complexity and led initiatives in enterprise architecture and integration services. Murtaza also has experience as a database administrator and Oracle developer with a strong educational background, including a Certificate in Project Management from Northeastern University, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai, and ongoing studies at MIT Sloan School of Management.
