Lauren Wye has a diverse work experience in the field of radar systems and remote sensing technologies. Lauren is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Aloft Sensing, Inc., a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to that, Lauren served as the President and Co-Founder of Aloft Research Corporation from February 2020 to March 2021.
Before their entrepreneurial endeavors, Lauren worked at SRI International, where they held various roles over a span of ten years. Lauren served as an Associate Director from January 2018 to February 2020, managing a portfolio of programs developing specialized radar sensors for unique platforms, such as high-altitude balloons and small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAS). Lauren was also the Principal Investigator of a large defense program focused on suborbital radar imaging capabilities in support of national security.
In addition, Lauren served as the Lab Director of SRI's Signals and Space Laboratory from January 2017 to December 2017, where they led a team of 30 researchers in conducting cutting-edge space-related research and development projects for commercial and government customers. Lauren also managed compact radar and stratospheric programs.
Prior to their role as Lab Director, Lauren worked as a Program Manager and Principal Research Engineer at SRI International. Lauren'sresponsibilities included executing and managing projects to design and build innovative radar systems for remote sensing and target detection. Lauren was the Principal Investigator of the CubeSat Imaging Radar for Earth Science (CIRES) program, which involved developing high-fidelity interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) imaging capabilities for small satellites, unmanned aerial systems, and high-altitude air balloons. Additionally, they executed projects related to interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) sensing from aircraft and space situational awareness using passive RF radio telescopes.
Overall, Lauren Wye has a strong background in radar technology development, program management, and leadership roles.
Lauren Wye completed their education in a chronological order, starting with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Astronomy from the University of Virginia from 1999 to 2003. Lauren then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University from 2003 to 2006. Lastly, they obtained a Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2011, specializing in Electrical Engineering, Radar Remote Sensing, and Planetary Exploration.
