Ludmila directs AlphaMicron’s product development for both consumer and military devices.
She holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Moscow State University, where the focus of her research was the development of new synthetic methodologies specifically applicable for the synthesis of liquid crystals. Additionally, Lucy completed a fellowship at the Institute of Technology for Chemistry and Biology (New University of Lisbon, Portugal) in asymmetric organic synthesis as well as a post-doctoral position at Chemistry Department at Kent State University, where she was involved in the design, synthesis and characterization of chiral nonlinear optical chromophores, chromophores for polymeric photorefractive materials as well as various liquid crystals with unique optical properties. Lucy left KSU to join AMI in 2000, where she started the AMI’s chemistry department. Under her guidance, AlphaMicron’s chemistry department has grown over the years, from a single fume hood into a full chemical production facility producing world class dyes and other materials. She has also co-authored multiple papers and is inventor on numerous patents.
