Michael Collins

Michael Collins has over 20 years of technical and managerial experience in the broadcast and digital media industry. Michael started their career with TechTV as an editor and upgraded their edit and trans-coding systems to broadcast standards. Collins later worked for Eloquent Inc. where they created new automated ingestion and trans-coding systems and improved Eloquents' transcription system. At Transvideo Studios, they contributed by creating new AV content systems for multiple clients and revamping studios infrastructure. At KTLN TV/Golden Gate Studios, they worked as a production/engineer and developed a new monitoring system that allowed broadcast to be monitored and controlled from remote location. Collins was also the Senior Broadcast Engineering Manager at Cision where they managed their global broadcast IPTV infrastructure and coordinated all capital facilities projects. Michael was the Senior Service Manager at DigiCast Networks of Brite Media Group where they managed digital out of home signage network installations, development and daily service. Michael managed the deployment and operation of video/audio ingest system for Cognitive Networks ACR systems and developed and deployed new servers to allow the system to scale both internationally and domestically. At Digital Nirvana, they worked as the Director of customer service and managed the support, IT, and Dev-Ops, software QA, sale engineering departments. Collins has planned and executed the migration of computer systems with no data loss or work place interruptions, led teams that created new systems to automate labor-intensive processes, and managed the install of large rack systems and infrastructure at data center sites as an engineer and consultant.

Michael Collins attended Mt. Eden High School from 1992 to 1995, focusing on a college preparatory curriculum and studying Communication and Media Studies. Michael then attended California State University - East Bay from 1995 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication.
