Babak Samimi

Babak Samimi has a diverse work experience in the semiconductor industry. Babak is currently the Senior Vice President & General Manager at Alphawave Semi, a position they started in November 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Corporate Vice President, Communications Business at Microchip Technology Inc. from August 2019 to November 2022. Before that, they were the Vice President & Business Unit Manager, Communications Business Unit at Microsemi Corporation from December 2015 to August 2019. Babak also worked at PMC Sierra US Inc where they held various roles including Vice President - Communications Products Division, Director of Strategic Marketing, Manager of Strategic Marketing, and Senior Product Design Engineer. Babak began their career as a Product Design Engineer at Nortel Networks in 1996. Babak has expertise in executive leadership, business development, marketing, and product design in the semiconductor industry.

Babak Samimi obtained a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, with six years of study from 1992 to 1998.
