Nicholas Ellens

Nicholas Ellens has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Nicholas is currently working as a VP of Research & Development at Alpheus Medical, Inc. Previously, they served as a Measurement Physicist at Acertara Acoustic Laboratories, LLC from 2017 to 2023. Before that, they worked as a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins Hospital from 2014 to 2018. Nicholas also has experience as an Applications Specialist at FUS Instruments from 2012 to 2016. Nicholas holds a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto, where they worked as a Graduate Student from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they have worked as a Research Physicist/Engineer at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Physics Research Assistant at McMaster University, and Physics Research Assistant at Harvard University. At Harvard, they primarily worked on the 'ATRAP' collaboration and also contributed to an experiment that measured the electron magnetic moment with high precision.

Nicholas Ellens has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they achieved an M.A. in Christian Political Philosophy from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) between 2008 and 2009. Nicholas'sundergraduate degree is a B.Sc in Physics with a minor in History from McMaster University, completed from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they obtained a certification in GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Medical Devices (U.S. FDA Focus) from the CITI Program in February 2023.
