Thierry Schmid

Thierry Schmid has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Starting in 1999, they worked at Consultas SA as a Technology Engineer and later as the Head of Finance & Administration. In 2004, they became the Managing Director at MediaConnect SA before moving on to become the Director of Human Resources at Publicitas AG in 2007. From 2010 to 2020, they were involved with the Crèche "Les MiniWatts" as both a Member and Chairman of the Foundation Board. In 2009, they joined Alpiq AG, where they held various HR positions including Head Compensation & Benefits and Head HR Generation Switzerland. In 2018, they took on the role of Executive Counsellor and Vice Syndic at Ville de Romont. Thierry also became a Management Committee member at Réseau Santé Glâne. Additionally, they served as a Board Member at S.I. Arruffens - Romont S.A and Fondation Handicap Glâne. Currently, they serve as a Management Committee member at Association à buts multiples de la Glâne (ABMG).

Thierry Schmid received a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Lausanne - UNIL in 1996. In 2003, they obtained an MBA in Economics from the School of Management Fribourg (HEG-FR). Later, in 2008, they pursued a program in Leadership at IMD. Thierry is also certified in Business English at Level C1 by the University of Cambridge - ESOL Examinations and holds a Goethe Zertifikat C1 from the Goethe Institut e.V., obtained in 2011 and 2007 respectively. Additionally, they have recently completed a Leadership program at IMD in the year 2023.
