David Sommer

David Sommer is the Chief Product Officer and Co-founder of Kudos Innovations, a company dedicated to enhancing research impact through tools that aid researchers, publishers, and institutions. Since 2014, David has served as Chair of the ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing judging panel, recognizing groundbreaking innovations in scholarly communication. As Chair of Project COUNTER's Executive Committee since 2011, David has played a pivotal role in establishing standards for measuring the use of electronic resources. Additionally, David founded David Sommer Consulting in 2009, focusing on product development, business growth, and personnel development in the publishing sector. Previously, David held the position of Commercial Director at MPS Technologies, where the goal was to offer quality solutions for scholarly communication. Early career experience includes serving as Product Manager for Blackwell Publishing and Project Manager at Compact Information Ltd. David holds an MBA from University College Dublin and an MA in Physics from the University of Oxford.
