Colin Smith

Colin Smith is VP of Station Engineering at Vast, working on artificial gravity for space stations. Colin is also a Venture Partner at Also Capital, investing in early-stage companies. Previously, Colin was a Sr. Propulsion Engineer at SpaceX, specializing in starship batteries and actuation systems. Colin led the Crew Dragon Propulsion Components team and designed liquid rocket engine components. Before that, Colin conducted research on robotic jellyfish at Virginia Tech and interned at Jordan & Skala Engineers. Colin holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech.
