Ghie Lara has a strong background in human resources and administration, working in various leadership roles throughout their career. Ghie currently holds the position of Vice President for Corporate Services at Alsons Power Group, where they oversee corporate services functions. Prior to that, they served as the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources, Administration, and OD at the same company. Ghie also has experience as an HR senior manager at Alsons Power Group. Before joining Alsons Power Group, Ghie worked at Avid Technology as the Country HR Head, where they played a vital role in establishing the HR and administration infrastructure for the start-up company. Ghie also worked as a Senior Manager for Global HR Operations Shared Services at MUSIC Group Macao Commercial Offshore Limited, and as a Human Capital Development Leader at Excelitas Technologies. Ghie started their career at Amkor Technology as an Organization Development and Training Supervisor.
Ghie Lara has a certificate in HR Strategic Partnering from Ateneo de Manila University, which was completed in 2010. In 2006, they earned a diploma in Organization Development from the same university. Ghie'sundergraduate education was completed at the University of the Assumption, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics between 1992 and 1996.

Alsons Power Group
The Alsons Power Group is Mindanao’s first and most experienced private sector power generator. Alsons Power is the umbrella brand that groups together all the power business affiliates of the Alcantara Group and Alsons Consolidated Resources, Inc. Alsons Power has a portfolio of four power facilities with an aggregate capacity of 468 mega-watts (MW) serving over eight million people in 14 cities and 11 provinces in Mindanao. These power facilities are: the 103 MW Mapalad Power Corporation (MPC)diesel plant in Iligan City; the Southern Philippines Power Corporation’s (SPPC) 55 MW diesel plant in Alabel, Sarangani Province; the Western Mindanao Power Corporation’s (WMPC) 100 MW diesel plant in Zamboanga City; and the 210 MW Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) baseload coal-fired power plant in Maasim, Sarangani Province. For the long-term the company is slated to focus on renewables with the company’s first renewable energy facility- the ₱4.5 billion 14.5 MW hydroelectric power plant currently under construction at the Siguil River basin in Sarangani Province. The Siguil Hydro Power plant will be the first of eight hydropower facilities that Alsons Power plans to develop.
