Richard Simonds

Richard Simonds is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the field of securitization and structured finance. Currently serving as Senior Counsel and Partner in the Global Finance group at Alston & Bird LLP since May 2013, Richard previously held a similar role as Partner in the Capital Markets department at SNR Denton from January 2009 to May 2013. Richard began a distinguished career at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP, where work was concentrated in the Structured Finance department from September 1993 to December 2008. Early career experience includes a summer internship at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 1993. Richard holds a JD from New York University School of Law and a B.A. in English from Columbia University.
