Principal Mechanical Engineer at Altaeros Energies

Jin Xu has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. They worked at Altaeros from December 2021 as the Principal Mechanical Engineer, where they oversaw the mechanical team and collaborated with other disciplines to determine project priorities. They also reviewed designs and ensured adherence to product development processes. Before that, they worked at Altaeros from April 2015 to December 2021 as an Aerostat System Engineer, responsible for designing and developing multiple aerostat systems. They collaborated with various teams and created analysis methodologies and tools.

Prior to their time at Altaeros, Jin Xu worked at GE from March 2013 to April 2015 as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for New Product Introduction, where they were responsible for the mechanical design and structural simulation of flowcells for ultrasonic flowmeters. They obtained certification for explosion proof and hazardous location with authorities. They also worked as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for Research and Development at GE from January 2011 to March 2013, conducting research and development on ultrasonic sensor projects and performing validation testing.

Jin Xu's earlier work experience includes positions at Jacobs Vehicle Systems. From February 2010 to January 2011, they served as the Program Lead for Decompression Technology. From June 2009 to January 2011, they worked as the Engineering Standards Coordinator. As a Design Engineer from April 2008 to January 2011, they designed engine brakes, collaborated with project engineers, and completed design and analysis tasks.

Jin Xu attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
