Adam Preston

Adam Preston, CFA, P. Eng possesses extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Specialist in Commercial Optimization at AltaGas Ltd. since July 2024. Prior to this role, Adam worked at Birchcliff Energy Ltd. as a Strategic Planning Engineer from July 2019 to June 2024. Adam also held the position of Reservoir Engineer at the Alberta Energy Regulator from January 2016 to July 2019, where responsibilities included reserves evaluation for the Duvernay and contributions to evaluations of the Montney and Cardium formations. Early in their career, Adam gained valuable experience through various internships and student roles, including a summer position in the Reserves Group at AER and a summer internship at IHS. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech and a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
