David Marks

David Marks has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and risk management. David currently holds the position of Vice President Internal Audit at AltaGas Ltd. since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Enbridge from 2015 to 2023, where they held multiple roles including Director Operations Internal Audit, Director Internal Audit, and Interim VP Chief Audit Executive. At Enbridge, they developed and led operational integrated assurance teams, focused on regulatory requirements and risk-based operational auditing. David also established and led an excellent audit team focused on shared service groups. Before joining Enbridge, David worked at Precision Drilling, Newalta, BC Hydro, Deloitte, TELUS, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Ernst & Young in various audit and financial roles.

David Marks holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Calgary. David also obtained a Leadership Certificate in Organizational Leadership from the Ivey Business School at Western University in 2012. In terms of additional certifications, David is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) accredited by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). David is also a Certified Internal Auditor and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA.CA) designation in Alberta.
