Shaheen Amirali

As Chief External Affairs and Sustainability Officer Ms. Amirali leads AltaGas’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives through a focused platform led corporately in support of the sustainability of AltaGas’ business and operations enterprise wide. Through this role she oversees AltaGas’ enterprise-wide ESG strategy and execution, stakeholder relations efforts including the company’s Indigenous and community affairs, and internal and external communications. Shaheen joined AltaGas as Corporate Counsel in 2007 and was appointed to the position of Corporate Secretary in 2017. In her role as Corporate Secretary, she is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company’s governance framework and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Ms. Amirali holds a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Environmental and Conservation Sciences and a Bachelor of Laws degree, both from the University of Alberta.
