Makayla Mendez

Makayla Mendez has a diverse work experience that spans several roles and industries.

In 2019, they worked as a Sales Associate at Justice, where they coordinated fashion shows to promote body positivity and delivered high-level customer service.

From 2019 to 2020, they were a Social Media Fellow at Rise, where they increased the company's Instagram page visitors by designing eye-catching social media posts and interviewed fellow college students about their journeys.

In 2018, they worked as a Dining Student Supervisor at the University of California, Riverside, where they led a team of 10 student workers and developed positive relationships with coworkers.

From 2020 to 2022, Makayla served as a Mentor at Mentor Collective, communicating with first-year or transfer students to support their transition into college and leading workshops on common challenges.

In 2022, they joined College Track as a Development Team Intern, providing administrative support and managing donor cultivation and stewardship communication.

Makayla also worked as a Match Support Specialist at Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles County in 2022, where they provided support to volunteer mentor/child matches, processed communication interactions, and developed web code templates for the agency webpage.

Currently, Makayla works as a Case Manager, Behavioral Health (School Based) at AltaMed Health Services.

Makayla Mendez completed their high school education at the Math Science & Technology Magnet Academy at Roosevelt High School from 2014 to 2018. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of California, Riverside from 2018 to 2022.
