Dr. Petra Severit

Dr. Petra Severit has a diverse work experience in various industries. Dr. Petra currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at ALTANA AG since August 2018. Dr. Petra is also a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at CENIDE - Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen since August 2022 and at DWI – Leibniz-Institut für Interaktive Materialien since October 2021. Dr. Petra holds the position of Board Member at Velox Ltd. since August 2019.

Prior to their current roles, Dr. Severit held the position of Managing Director at DSM Deutschland Sales Offices from August 2015 to July 2018. Dr. Petra also served as the Director Research and Technology at DSM from June 2014 to July 2018. Dr. Severit was involved in Business Development China as a part of their role at Federal Mogul Corporation from March 2013 to May 2014. Dr. Petra also worked as the Director of Advanced Product Development at Federal-Mogul Motorparts from November 2009 to May 2014.

Before these positions, Dr. Severit held various roles at TMD Friction, including Global Portfolio Manager from November 2004 to October 2009, Project Manager from February 2003 to November 2004, and Projektleiter Entwicklung from May 2000 to January 2003.

Dr. Petra Severit completed their education in two stages. From 1990 to 1997, they attended the Universität zu Köln, where they earned a Dipl. Chem. degree in Technische Chemie. Following this, from 1997 to 2000, they pursued further academic advancement at the Fraunhofer Institut für Polymermaterialien und Composite, where they obtained a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Polymerchemie.
