Ashlen Aggen is a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in clinical and academic settings. Currently serving as the Moderate Complexity Lab Director at AltaPointe Health Systems since August 2021, Ashlen also holds positions as Core Faculty for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship and Adjunct Faculty Instructor at the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine. In addition, Ashlen contributes as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine and practices as a Family Physician at ACCORDIA HEALTH, INC. Notably, Ashlen has experience as a Medical Review Officer and served as Chief Resident at the University of South Alabama Health, where significant contributions included organizing a Patient Advisory Board and managing quality improvement initiatives. AltaPointe Health is a large healthcare system providing primary and behavioral healthcare. Each year it provides more than 1 million services to 45,000 patients across Alabama. A national leader in behavioral health for over 60 years, AltaPointe expanded its service array in 2018 to include primary care. Now focusing on the patient's whole health, it operates Accordia Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center with four clinic sites. Rounding out the continuum, AltaPointe operates two psychiatric hospitals serving children and adults, 20 outpatient behavioral healthcare clinics, and BayView Professional Associates, its private practice arm serving southwest Alabama. Its team of 28 physicians and 16 physician extenders renders the medical care services throughout the organization and serves as the administration and faculty for the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine-Department of Psychiatry.
