Born in Singapore, Dat Han Cheam graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy and Finance). Dat began their career as a Management Associate at Citi, before moving on to McKinsey & Company as a Consultant in the Real Estate, Infrastructure and PE practices. In October 2018, they joined CoHive as the Head of CEO's Office. In October 2020, they joined Altara Ventures as an Associate.

Dat Han Cheam has a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
