Rene Cuartero has held a variety of roles in the finance and operations industry since 2013. From 2013 to 2014, they served as the Executive Board Treasurer for Nieuwe Compagnie van Verre. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Head of National Strategy Advisory, Trainings, and Advocacy for Child and Youth Finance International, and also held roles as Regional Policy Advisor and Program Manager for APAC and Founding Regional Coordinator for Asia and the Pacific. In 2016, they took on the role of Online Media Manager and Weekend Barista at Frederix Roastery X Coffee Bar, and in 2017 they became Lead of Social Media and Promotions at Shelter Amsterdam. In 2018, they were a Consultant for Policy Research & Consultancy (PRAC) and Bangladesh Bank, and also a Consultant for Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI). Since 2019, they have been a Lecturer, Vice Chair, and Assistant Professor at De La Salle University, and in 2022 they will become the Chief Operating Officer of AHG Lab.
Rene Cuartero began their educational journey in 2007 when they attended De La Salle University and earned a Double Degree in BSc in Applied Economics (major: International Econ) & BSc in Commerce (major: Financial Management). In 2012, they attended Nyenrode Business University and earned a Master of Science (MSc) in International Management with a focus in Finance & Diplomacy. In 2013, they were an Exchange Student at UBIS, studying International Business & Diplomacy, and at Zayed University, studying Intercultural Sensitvity in Business. In 2017 and 2018, they attended PwC Professional Continuing Education and earned a Data-Driven Decision Making, Analysis and Presentation certification. Currently, Rene is in the process of earning their Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from De La Salle University, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
