Jonquil Bertschi

Jonquil Bertschi has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on advocating for and providing services to vulnerable populations. Jonquil is currently the Vice President of Programs at Alternatives For Girls and previously served as the Executive Director of EVE, INC. and Justice for Our Neighbors-Michigan. Jonquil has also held leadership positions at HAVEN Oakland County, Weiss Advocacy Center and Freedom House, Weiss Advocacy Center, and the Resource Center of Genesee County. Jonquil'sroles have encompassed strategic planning, staff and volunteer management, program development, and legal counseling. Throughout their career, Jonquil has demonstrated a commitment to advancing social justice and supporting marginalized communities.

Jonquil Bertschi has a strong education background in law and sociology. Jonquil obtained their Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Women's Studies from Kalamazoo College, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Following their undergraduate studies, Jonquil attended the University of Michigan Law School, where they obtained their JD (Juris Doctor) degree in Law from 1999 to 2002.

Furthermore, Jonquil has also pursued additional certifications to enhance their professional skills. Jonquil obtained a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business in May 2021. In September 2020, they earned a Certificate in Financial Success for Nonprofits from Cornell University.
