Juan Lomba

Juan Lomba is currently a Senior Associate for Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives at ALTÉRRA since January 2025. Previously, Juan served as a Senior Specialist in the Office of the Director General at COP28 UAE from August 2022 to December 2024, where responsibilities included leading the office, managing key relationships, and facilitating engagements in bilateral and multilateral forums. In an earlier role as a Specialist in the same office, Juan co-led the inaugural Trade Day at a COP and focused on partnerships related to trade, clean energy, and decarbonization. Prior to COP28, Juan was an Analyst and Advisor at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates from March 2020 to July 2022, managing relationships with the Spanish private sector and developing strategies to enhance UAE-Spain bilateral relations. Juan also contributed to European Commission initiatives in 2018 as part of the Blue Book program, and volunteered with the World Leadership Alliance - Club de Madrid, where efforts included drafting concept notes and supporting stakeholder engagement.
