Prior to these roles, Darren owned DARCAT Machine Works Inc. from February 2007 to September 2017 and held positions such as Field Supervisor at Edmonton Exchanger and Team Industrial Services. Earlier career experiences include working as a field tech at REPPSCO SERVICES LTD. and as a machinist at Wild Rows Pump & Compression. Darren's career began as an apprentice machinist at A-Plus Machining and Welding, where skills were developed to achieve Red Seal Journeyman certification. Education was pursued at NAIT between 1998 and 2001.

Altex Industries is located in Edmonton Alberta with a primary focus on heat exchangers in the Canadian market. We provide complete life cycle support for your heat transfer needs - engineering & design, fabrication, repairs & re-tubes, replacement parts, major turn-around field services, and problem-solving / technical support. All engineering, drafting, project management, procurement, and fabrication occurs at our main facility in Edmonton. We are Canadian owned, and support Canadian workers and operations. Our primary focus is on Air-Cooled and Shell & Tube heat exchangers, including Helixchangers, Sulphur Condensers, Waste-Heat Boilers, and winterized (re-circulation) air-cooler bays. We are experienced with most metallurgies - carbon steel, stainless & duplex, chrome-moly including 1-1/4 and 2-1/4, high-nickel alloys like 625, 825, C276, and weld-overlays.
