Bjørnar Røys has diverse work experience in the engineering field. Bjørnar started their career in 2006 at ULSTEIN as a Service Coordinator and System Engineer, where they handled planning, commissioning, service, and upgrades. Bjørnar was also responsible for budgeting, staffing, and sales-related tasks.

In 2012, Bjørnar joined Astra North Technologies as a Consultant for Semco Maritime AS, working on various projects involving upgrades for ConocoPhilips and Aker Solution AS. Bjørnar assisted with project planning and the implementation of systems like VHF TETRA, CCTV, Video Conference System, and Access Control System.

Bjørnar then moved to Semco Maritime as a Telecom Engineer, continuing their involvement in ELDFISK and EKOFISK upgrades. Their responsibilities included project planning, staffing, and tasks related to systems such as VHF TETRA, CCTV, Video Conference System, and Access Control System.

In 2014, Bjørnar joined National Oilwell Varco as an Instrument Engineer. Their role involved engineering for drawworks and hoisting systems, as well as electrical and instrument design. Bjørnar also handled order verification, internal checks, and factory acceptance tests for customers.

Finally, Bjørnar is currently working at Altibox, where they have held multiple roles since 2016. Bjørnar started as a Senior Engineer IPTV Operations and later became a Team Leader for TV Operations. Bjørnar is currently working as a Vaktlagsleder for System og TV, where they are responsible for overseeing the team and following up on larger incidents.

Bjørnar Røys earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from Ålesund University College (HiÅ) between the years 2003 and 2006.
