Alexa Smith

Alexa Smith has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to 2019. In 2014, they were the Communications & Outreach Team Leader, Public Relations Coordinator, and Recycling Assistant for Ohio University Campus Recycling. In 2015, they were the Co-Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, and Staff Writer for College Green Magazine, the Public Relations Director for ACRN, and a Crew Member for Clean Vibes LLC. In 2016, they were a Shift Leader for Insomnia Cookies. In 2017, they were a Market Associate for Frecon Fruit Farms and a Global Engagement Specialist for Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE). Finally, in 2019, they were a Marketing Manager, CSA Coordinator, and Garden Manager for Altius Farms. In this role, they maintained digital communications, created and developed CSA membership opportunities, designed, planted, and maintained production and event space, assisted with greenhouse operations, and established herself as a multi-disciplinary team member.

Alexa Smith attended Hempfield Area Senior High School from 2009 to 2013. Alexa then went on to Ohio University, where they earned a degree in Journalism and Strategic Communication with a specialization in Spanish and Environmental Studies. During their time at Ohio University, Alexa also obtained an Environmental Studies Certificate. In 2015, they attended Centers for Interamerican Studies in Cuenca, Ecuador, where they earned a minor in Spanish.
