Tom Laughlin

Tom Laughlin is a Senior Scientist in Imaging Technologies at Altos Labs since November 2022, where responsibilities include leading transmission electron microscopy efforts and collaborating on chemistry and biology projects. Prior to this role, Tom was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California San Diego, contributing to cryoFIB-SEM, cryoET, and cryoEM applications within the Elizabeth Villa Lab. Academic experience also includes a Graduate Research Assistant position at UC Berkeley, focusing on energy-coupled ion transporters, as well as various teaching roles and research assistantships at the University of Missouri and Washington University in St. Louis. Tom holds a PhD in Molecular & Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
