Steven Shorten is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in footwear and product design. Currently serving as a Senior Innovation Designer at Altra Running, a VF Company since August 2021, Steven previously held roles as Footwear Design Manager and Senior Designer within the same organization, where responsibilities included generating footwear concepts, 3D modeling, and managing design interns. Notable projects include the Altra Lone Peak, Escalante, Vanish, and Solstice families. In addition to industry experience, Steven has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor of Design at Utah State University, teaching footwear and product design. Prior to their current role, Steven worked as an Industrial Designer at Icon Health and Fitness, developing a range of exercise equipment designs using Solidworks 3D modeling. Steven holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Product Design from Brigham Young University.
