Georgios Balia

Georgios Balia is an experienced Environmental Services Contracts Manager at ALTRAD, where responsibilities include leading the growth of the Environmental Services department in the North of England and Scotland and presenting new services to potential clients. Previously, Georgios served as a Project Engineer at ProDecon, focusing on technical and commercial proposals, and as General Safety Foreman at V. Skordilakis SA, ensuring adherence to HSE standards. A proven leader, Georgios has also acted as Team Leader and Maritime Security Officer at LSS-SAPU, overseeing anti-piracy operations and crew safety. Early career experiences include an internship as a Process Engineer at Motor Oil Hellas and collaboration on a biodiesel production research project at the Technological Educational Institute of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. Georgios holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Chester and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, alongside a Bachelor’s Degree in Oil & Gas Technology.
