James Milner

Group Head of Growth at Altum Group

James Milner has extensive work experience in the finance industry. James started their career in 2003 at Dominion Fiduciary Services Group as an Accountant, where they focused on management incentive and pension structures for hedge fund managers and investment bankers. In 2007, they worked as a Finance Manager at Belgravia Asset Management Limited, reporting to the CFO in an open-ended real estate fund manager.

From 2007 to 2008, Milner worked at BDO Jersey as a Project Accountant, undertaking projects, consulting on processes and procedures, performing forensic accounting, and eliminating backlogs for various financial services firms.

In 2009, they joined HSBC Private Banking as a Client Accountant. James then moved to Deutsche Bank in 2013 as a Financial and Reporting Accountant. In this role, they were responsible for entities across various jurisdictions, performing board level analysis, risk management and reporting, management accounting, regulatory control and reporting, and financial statement preparation.

From 2016 to 2022, Milner worked at Crestbridge, initially as Director of Group Fund & Regulatory Services, where they had responsibilities in fund and regulatory services. James later transitioned into the role of Corporate & Capital Market Services.

Currently, Milner is the Group Head of Growth at Altum Group, a position they have held since August 2022.

James Milner's education history starts with their attendance at the De La Salle College Jersey, although the specific dates are unknown. James then went on to study at the University of Plymouth from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a degree in Accounting & Finance. After that, they pursued further education through the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and obtained additional certifications such as the CAIA Fundamentals in Alternative Investments and the Chartered Member qualification from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI). Finally, in 2017-2018, James completed their Master's degree in Professional Accountancy from the University of London.
