Melissa Chun has extensive experience in business development, marketing, and environmental analysis. Melissa began their career in 2007 as a Forestry Technician Blodgett Forest Research Station, Collaborative and Senior Writing Tutor at the University of California, Berkeley, and an Urban Forestry Research Assistant in the Joe R. McBride Lab. In 2009, they took on the role of Assistant Crew Coach at Jack London Aquatic Center and Environmental Analyst at Marstel Day, LLC. In 2013, they joined Viscira as a Director of Business Development, and was promoted to Senior Business Development Analyst and then Business Development and Marketing Analyst. In 2021, they joined VMLY&R as Director of Business Development - West. Most recently, in 2023, they were appointed Vice President of Strategic Engagement at Alucio, where they are developing cloud-based software for life sciences, medical affairs, and market access.
Melissa Chun obtained their Bachelor of Science in Conservation Resource Studies and Minor in Forestry from the University of California, Berkeley. In May 2015, they also obtained a Graphic and Web Design Certificate from the Bay Area Video Coalition. In August 2022, they will receive a Business Innovation Certificate from IDEO.
