Richard Godwin has a diverse work experience in the space technology and venture capital industries. Richard served as the Chief Executive Officer at Space Technology Holdings, where they focused on commercializing and bringing to market IP derived from space research. As the Founder and Director of AlumaPower Corporation, Godwin developed a unique and patented solution for the Aluminum-Air battery, creating a lightweight high energy density power system. At Starbridge Venture Capital, they worked as a Venture Partner, investing in advanced technologies designed for space flight. Richard also served as an Executive Director at OrbitalAg Inc., where they had exclusive rights to advanced agricultural bio-stimulants that improved crop growing efficiency. As a Judge for NASA iTech, Godwin contributed to finding innovative ideas that addressed critical problems on Earth and potential technology challenges in space exploration. Prior to these roles, they served as the Director and CEO of Zero Gravity Solutions, Inc. and President of CG Publishing and Apogee Books, a premier space industry book publisher. Richard also founded Local Impressions Inc., a profitable development company in the Digital Signage industry. Additionally, Godwin worked as a Business Analyst and Consultant at SpaceX, where they assessed the viability of a free-flying, commercial microgravity laboratory. Throughout their work experience, they demonstrated a deep understanding of space technologies and the financial skills required for successful investments.

Richard Godwin attended Ellesmere College from 1968 to 1973, where they studied Physics, Mathematics, and Economics at the A Levels. Richard later pursued further education at the University of Sunderland from 1973 to 1974, specializing in Mechanical Engineering with an underwater technology option for a one-year BSc degree. Following this, Richard Godwin enrolled at the University of Leeds from 1976 to 1979, where they completed their MBA with a focus on Business.
