Alex Shender

Alex Shender is a seasoned financial technology professional and a pioneer in the High Frequency Trading industry. Alex joined Tower Research Capital in 2000 and guided the firm from a core team of a dozen to over 700 employees. As the Chief Information Officer responsible for all technology aspects at Tower, he led a team of 70 employees and grew the trading activities to over 100 markets, with servers spread across 60+ data centers globally. He stepped down from day-to-day operations in 2015 and remains an active partner. Alex has also served on the advisory board for Tecnologika, a financial markets-focused technology provider, and an angel investor in a handful of companies across various industries. He earned both his BS and MS in Computer Science from Columbia University.
