Chad Hanson has extensive experience in laboratory management. Chad started their career in 2002 as a Manager of Clinical Microbiology at St. Alexius Medical Center, where they worked until 2013. In 2006, they joined AMITA Health as a Manager of Clinical Microbiology and stayed there until 2019. In 2017, they became the Laboratory Manager at AMITA LaGrange Medical Center, and currently, they hold the position of Laboratory Director at Alverno Laboratories starting from October 2019.
Chad Hanson earned a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, General from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1994 and 1998. Chad then pursued further education and obtained another Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from the University of Illinois Springfield between 1998 and 2000. In addition to their academic qualifications, Chad obtained certifications in Executive Program in Corporate Strategy and High-Performance Leadership from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education in July 2023.

Alverno Laboratories
Alverno Laboratories manages 32 hospital laboratories and provides laboratory services to two free standing emergency departments and thousands of physician offices and other clients in the Midwest. Alverno has been providing outreach laboratory services in the northern Indiana communities since the laboratory was originally built in 1999. Alverno has more than twenty-five patient service centers, with the number expected to grow. Alverno has a state-of-the-art central laboratory and is one of the largest regional laboratories in the Midwest. Alverno exhibits a culture of customer service, highly reliable clinical and anatomic pathology testing with a focus on providing excellent laboratory service for the communities we serve. In addition to the more than 350 laboratory professionals at the Hammond facility and over 2,100 laboratory professionals system wide, Pathology Consultants, Inc. has five full time M.D. Pathologists providing anatomic pathology service and medical directorship at the central laboratory and about twenty pathologists throughout the Alverno system. The Alverno central laboratory became ISO 15189:2012 certified in 2015. We are proud of this accomplishment and credit our exceptional employees for achieving this certification.
