Shawn Rawls

Shawn Rawls is an accomplished artist with extensive experience in the dance and performing arts sectors. As the Artistic Director of Emotions Physical Theatre since January 2013, Shawn focuses on creating engaging performances that blend art and entertainment. In addition to this role, Shawn has served as a Teaching Artist with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater since December 2017 and has been a dancer with Roxey Ballet since January 2013. Previous positions include dance teacher and performer with Pilobolus Dance Theatre and experiences in various teaching roles at other dance institutions. Shawn holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Wilson College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University, complemented by early training in Visual Arts and Dance at Cleveland School of the Arts.
