John P. Chadbourne

EVP & Chief Business Development Officer & Government Relations at AM General

John Chadbourne joined AM General in July 2018. In his current role, John is responsible for the development and growth of the business through building relationships in the industry, identifying opportunities, and completing business deals. John also provides the executive oversight for development, execution, and communication of AM General’s customer-focused strategy with state and federal agencies. John strengthens AM General’s relationships with domestic and international customers, U.S. and state-level government and non- government agencies, and key international agencies to ensure alignment of customer priorities with AM General’s portfolio of products and services to drive revenue growth. He also provides the executive oversight for development and execution of AM General’s marketing efforts to strengthen AM General’s branding and positioning in the market as the global leader in military vehicle full life-cycle support. Additionally, John serves on the NDIA Board of Directors.

Prior to joining AM General, John had a 30-year career as a Logistics Officer in the United States Army attaining the rank of Colonel where he gained extensive experience in logistics and program management. During his career, he led Logistics Units from platoon through brigade and held multiple staff positions, including the Director of Joint Logistics (J4) for all U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, and the Director of Materiel in the Headquarters of the Army, G8.

John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from the University of North Georgia as well as a Master of Science Degree in Systems Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Army War College. His professional qualifications include being designated a Certified Professional Logistician by the International Society of Logistics and Level II Program Management Certificate from the Defense Acquisition University. Chadbourne’s military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, Airborne School, Support Operations Course, Command and General Staff College and the Army War College.
