John Romano

John Romano is an experienced banking executive with a robust career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Executive Vice President at Amalgamated Bank since January 2013, John oversees operations for a bank with $3.6 billion in assets across 24 branches. Prior to this role, John held the position of President of the Long Island Division at Peoples United Bank from December 2010 to December 2012, managing the strategic direction of a division with $28 billion in assets and over 400 branches. John also served as President and COO at Bank of Smithtown from June 1999 to December 2010, where responsibilities included overseeing 33 branch offices and managing $2.4 billion in assets.
