Sam Brown is the EVP & Director of Commercial Banking at Amalgamated Bank.

From 2013 to 2014, Sam served as the Director of the White House Business Council under President Barack Obama. In this role, Sam worked with businesses, trade associations, and business leaders to create jobs and grow the economy.

Prior to their work in the White House, Sam served as the Chief of Staff for Organizing for Action, the evolution of President Obama’s campaign apparatus. In this role, Sam was responsible for supporting The President in achieving the national agenda Americans voted for on Election Day 2012.

From 2009 to 2011, Sam served as the Finance Chief of Staff for the Democratic National Committee. In this role, Sam was responsible for overseeing the DNC’s finances and working with donors to support the Democratic Party.

In addition to their work with the DNC, Sam also served as Finance Chief of Staff for the Presidential Inaugural Committee in both 2009 and 2013. In this role, Sam was responsible for raising funds for the President’s inauguration and working with donors to support the event.

Prior to their work on the Presidential Inaugural Committee, Sam served as a Southern CA Finance Consultant for Obama for America from 2007 to 2008 and as a Political Consultant & Fundraiser for Capital Strategies from 2006 to 2007.

Sam Brown's educational career began with him receiving their high school diploma from The Blake School. Sam then went on to receive their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Southern California.

Sam Brown reports to Priscilla Sims Brown, CEO. They are on a team with Sean Searby - EVP, Operations & Program Management, Joe Bae - SVP & Director of Commercial Client Services, and Rob Mante - First VP, Director of Consumer Investments.
