Shane Ragbir

Mr. Shane Ragbir is a young, upcoming professional in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) industry. His role as the GIS Analyst at Amalgamated Security Services Ltd. has strengtnened his Skills in spatial data collection, processing, manipulation, analysis, and management. His experience has also exposed him to Enterprise GIS design, GIS geodatabase design as well as web GIS application development. Further works done for Label House Ltd. and Pepper Advertising Ltd. has honed his skills in thematic map creation and application-centric spatial data generation. Furthermore, consultancy work with v. Boodram Engineering Limited has further developed his aptitude in GIS Project Management and GIS Data Conversion.

Academically, Mr. Ragbir holds a Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering and is near completion of a Master's degree in Geoinformatics. He has also written an unpublished honors thesis in 2009 entitled 'A GIS Based Flood Vulnerability Assessment of a Section of the East-West Corridor, Trinidad. Academic projects include designing a Road Asset Management system for the collection and management of road Furniture along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, creation of a Land Cover Classification Map for Port of Spain and Environs using Satellite Imagery and undertaking a Needs Assessment for the implementation of an Enterprise GIS for the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA).

Additionally, Mr. Ragbir is proficient in ESRI's ArcGlS suite of software, Auto CAD, Garmin Mapsource, Global Mapper, IDRISI Andes, and MapGuide Studio.

He holds several ESRI Virtual Campus Training certificates specializing in Geoprocessing, Geodatabases, Spatial Analysis, Geo-statistics, and ESRI software usage. He also holds a URISA certificate in GIS Program Management and is a member of the GIS Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
