Nafisa Bakkar

Nafisa Bakkar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Nafisa is the Co-founder and CEO of Amaliah, a media platform that amplifies the voices of Muslim women and works with brands and agencies. Nafisa is also a speaker and writer, with a personal website showcasing their work. Nafisa served as the CEO of Halal Gems, a halal food discovery platform, before it was acquired by Amaliah. Additionally, Nafisa has experience as a board trustee at Free Word, a cultural organization exploring the power and politics of words, and at the EY Foundation. Nafisa was a contributor for Forbes magazine and worked as an Entrepreneurship Coordinator at University College London, where they advised students on startup ideas and launched a crowdfunding platform. Nafisa also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Founders & Coders, providing support and delivering workshops on web development. Prior to this, they held various positions at Enactus-UCL, BBSRC, and Jacobs Consultancy.

Nafisa Bakkar pursued their higher education from 2011 to 2014 at UCL, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Natural Sciences. In 2014, they attended Founders and Coders for a short period to enhance their skills in Fullstack Web Development; however, no degree was mentioned for this particular program.
