Emma Carr, PhD, is the Co-Founder and COO of Amara Therapeutics since April 2020, focusing on innovating pelvic and bladder health treatments through digital therapeutics. Prior to this role, Emma served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Limerick, where the emphasis was on developing a digital intervention to boost physical activity after a stroke, funded by the Health Research Board. Emma also held positions at the National University of Ireland, Galway, as a Part-time Lecturer and Tutor, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Manager, overseeing a mixed-methods Process Evaluation of the MYCOMRADE Plus pilot cluster RCT. Emma completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology and Health at the University of Galway, where the research concentrated on digital interventions for health-related behaviors, complemented by a Master’s in Health Psychology and additional qualifications in Psychology and History & Geography.
