Kathleen Sapios

Kathleen Sapios is the Director of Global Tax Operations at Amazon. Kathleen has over 25 years of experience in the taxation field.

Kathleen started their career at JPMorgan Chase in 1994 as the Head of Multicurrency & Research Group in the Chase Private Bank Tax Services. Kathleen then moved to Citi in 1996 and became the Head of Tax Operations for the Private Bank. In 2000, they joined Merrill Lynch as their Director and Tax Counsel responsible for firm-wide information reporting and qualified intermediary (QI) compliance.

In 2004, Kathleen left Merrill Lynch to join UBS Investment Bank as their Global Head of Tax Operations. Kathleen remained in this position until 2010 when they moved to Royal Bank of Scotland as their Head of Tax Operations. Kathleen was with Royal Bank of Scotland from 2010 until 2013 when they joined Amazon as their Director of Global Tax Operations.

Kathleen Sapios has a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, an L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Michigan.
