Mo Jafari

Mo Jafari is an Applied Scientist at Amazon since April 2025, previously serving as Head of AI and Software and Director of AI at Aspect Biosystems where responsibilities included leading machine learning and computer vision initiatives for tissue therapeutic discovery. Prior experience includes a role as a Machine Learning Scientist at Harvard Medical School, focusing on medical imaging and data science, and a Project Technical Lead position at the University of British Columbia, where work involved developing an AI-driven ultrasound imaging framework. Additional roles include an Instructor at UBC and a Machine Learning Researcher at 1QBit, specializing in deep learning models for medical imaging. Mo Jafari began a career in machine learning as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, concentrating on skin cancer detection.
