Shekhar Mittal

Shekhar Mittal is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in economics, management, and engineering. As the first employee at Praja, Shekhar served as a Platform Engineer and Program Manager, contributing to the organization’s strategic planning. Extensive experience at Amazon includes roles as Senior Economist and Economist, while prior academic pursuits at UCLA Anderson led to a Ph.D. focused on Global Economics and Management. Shekhar's research includes developing a machine learning pipeline to combat tax evasion and analyzing cellphone data to assess the impacts of violence in Afghanistan during a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley. Additional experience encompasses software engineering at Cisco Systems and various research roles within academic institutions such as the University of Chicago. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a Doctor of Philosophy from UCLA Anderson.
