Csfm Nick Pappas

Nick Pappas has a diverse work experience in the field of groundskeeping and turf management. Nick currently holds the position of Head Groundskeeper for the International Series Games at the National Football League (NFL), a role they have held since August 2022. Nick also has previous experience as a Grounds Crew member for the NFL, starting in February 2020.

Prior to their time with the NFL, Pappas worked at AMB Sports and Entertainment as the Assistant Director of Stadium Operations from January 2022. Nick also served as the Head Groundskeeper and Conversions Manager from September 2018 to April 2022.

Pappas has extensive experience in sports turf management, having worked as the Director of Sports Turf at GreenSource Sports Turf & Landscape from June 2014 to August 2018. In this role, they designed and managed agronomic programs, oversaw construction and renovation projects, and managed department budgets.

Nick has also worked in groundskeeping roles for Major League Baseball (Miami Marlins from March 2013 to August 2018, Washington Nationals in 2011), the National Hockey League (Florida Panthers from December 2013 to May 2014), and the NCAA (Miami Dolphins & Sun Life Stadium from August 2012 to January 2014). In these positions, they maintained field standards, performed daily maintenance tasks, and handled clay and moisture maintenance.

Pappas began their career in the lawn care industry, working as an Application Specialist and Lawn Care Technician at Central Connecticut Lawn Service from March 2010 to September 2010. Nick also gained marketing experience as a Marketing Representative for UMass, Amherst at Coca-Cola Enterprises from January 2010 to May 2012.

In addition, Pappas worked as a Grounds Crew member at Ellington Ridge Country Club in 2009, where they performed various maintenance tasks on a natural grass golf course.

Overall, Pappas has a strong foundation in groundskeeping and turf management, with experience across different sports and industries.

Nick Pappas, CSFM has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Plant, Soil & Insect Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which they obtained from 2008 to 2012. Nick also holds an Associates Degree in Turfgrass Management from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst, which they earned from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they graduated from Ellington High School in 2008, receiving a High School Diploma. In addition to their academic achievements, they obtained the certification of Certified Sports Field Manager from the SFMA - Sports Field Management Association in January 2017.
