Maarten Altelaar

Executive Director at Ambagon Therapeutics

Maarten Altelaar has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2002, they obtained a PhD from AMOLF. From 2007-2012, they worked at Utrecht University, where they held the roles of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Postdoctoral Researcher. In 2011, they began working for the Dutch Society for Mass Spectrometry as a Boardmember, and for PrimeXS as an Editor. In 2012, they became the Proteomics Facilities Manager at The Netherlands Cancer Institute. In 2008, they also began working for the Netherlands Proteomics Centre as a Research Officer. In 2019, they became a Scientific Advisor for PEPSCOPE, and a Board Member and Treasurer for the International Mass Spectrometry Foundation. In 2020, they joined the Organising Committee and Treasurer for IMSC2022. Most recently, in 2022, they began working as the Executive Director for Ambagon Therapeutics.

Maarten Altelaar began their educational journey in 1999 when they enrolled in the Msc program in Analytical Chemistry at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). Maarten then proceeded to Utrecht University where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Analytical Chemistry in 2007. Prior to this, they obtained a BS Analytical Chemistry from Inholland University of Applied Sciences.
