Chris Welton has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Chris started their career as a Reporter in the newsroom of BBC Scotland and then gained work experience as a Reporter in the Scottish Daily Telegraph. Chris later joined the IPI Conference in Edinburgh as a Media Assistant. After that, Chris worked as an Operations Support Officer at Guildford Borough Council.

In 2007, Chris joined Hot Tin Roof as an Account Executive and Head of Online PR, where they developed the digital PR offering and led online PR and social media training courses. Chris then moved on to become a Social Media Executive and later a Social Media Manager at Outside Line, where they pitched, arranged, and hosted events. Chris also worked as a Senior Social Media Manager at Outside Line, during which they pitched, arranged, and hosted the Monty Python Reddit AMA.

In 2014, Chris became a Social Media Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, managing social media presence for brands including Toyota, Cravendale, Budweiser, Stella, LG, and Specsavers. Chris also worked as a Digital Strategist and Planner, developing strategies for clients including Toyota, Visa, Pampers, HSBC, Mr Kipling, and Direct Line.

Chris later joined 360i Europe as a Senior Strategist, working on campaign planning, briefings, and data-driven solutions for Enterprise Rent-a-Car, IKEA, and new business pitches. Chris also managed and mentored a junior strategist and was involved in hiring and developing the strategy team.

Before their current role, Chris worked at Hotels.com as a Senior Social Media Strategy Manager and Brand Partnerships Manager, where they helped build the Brand Sponsorship and Partnership team and managed company sponsorship of Tottenham Hotspur.

Currently, Chris Welton is the Head of Social and Content at Ambassador Theatre Group, where they deliver social media and content strategy for the ATG brand, global venues, and producer partners. Chris champions a new approach to digital media planning and customer care, manages the central social team and local theater marketing activities, and collaborates on venue marketing plans and creative briefs.

Chris Welton completed their A-Levels in English Language, German, and Film Studies at Godalming College from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a BA(Hons) degree in Journalism at Edinburgh Napier University from 2003 to 2007.
