Associate Laboratory Technical Director at Ambry

H. Paul Wan, PhD, FACMG, DABMGG, DABCC has a diverse work experience in the field of genetics and molecular biology. H.Paul is currently serving as the Associate Laboratory Technical Director at Ambry Genetics since January 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Assistant Laboratory Technical Director at Ambry Genetics from August 2019 to December 2021.

Before joining Ambry Genetics, Dr. Wan worked at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where they held the positions of Assistant Laboratory Director from March 2018 to July 2019, and ABMGG Clinical Molecular Genetics Fellow from June 2016 to June 2018. H.Paul also had a role as an Assistant Laboratory Director at Sema4 from March 2018 to July 2019.

Dr. Wan's earlier work experience includes positions at UCLA Health, where they served as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist from August 2014 to April 2016, and as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Trainee from July 2013 to July 2014. H.Paul also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UCLA Health from December 2010 to June 2013.

Dr. Wan began their career as an Assistant Researcher at the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences from July 2010 to December 2010. Overall, their work experience encompasses various roles in laboratory management, clinical genetics, and research.

H. Paul Wan, PhD, FACMG, DABMGG has a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Genetics from the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which they obtained from 2005 to 2010. H.Paul holds several additional certifications including DABMGG in Clinical Molecular Genetics from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in 2019, and DABCC in Molecular Diagnostics from the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in 2021. H.Paul also obtained certifications in CoQ from the New York State Department of Health in 2016, CGMBS from the California Department of Public Health in 2014, and Molecular Biology from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in 2012.
