Eric Knox has held various leadership positions throughout their career. Eric started their career as the Special Projects Director for the US Senate Office of Paul Coverdell in 1993. From 1993 to 1998, they served as a Director for the Republican National Committee's Majority Fund, where they focused on political action committee fundraising. In 1998, they became the President and CEO of American Target Resources until 1999.
Knox then transitioned to the public sector, joining the US Department of Energy's Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management as a Senior Policy Advisor from 2001 to 2002. From 2002 to 2005, they became a Senior Policy Advisor and Chief of Staff for the Office of the Under Secretary for Energy, Science, and Environment at the US Department of Energy. During this time, Knox played a key role in managing the Department of Energy's non-weapons components.
In 2005, Knox became the Associate Director of System Operations and External Relations for the US Department of Energy's Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management until 2009. In the same year, they also joined URS, Global Management & Operations Services as a Senior Project Director until 2014.
From 2011 to 2014, Knox served three consecutive terms as the Chairman of the United States Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC), a leading think tank advocacy group for nuclear energy new-build in the US. In this role, they played a crucial role in promoting nuclear development and deployment globally.
In 2017, Knox joined AECOM as the Vice President of Strategic Development for Nuclear & Environment until January 2020. In 2009, they also started working for Amentum as the Vice President of Strategic Development for the Environment & Energy sector, a position they continue to hold.
Throughout their career, Knox has demonstrated expertise in strategic development, project management, and advocacy for nuclear energy.
Eric Knox attended Clemson University where they received a B.A in Political Science and History. Eric also completed the Program on Negotiation at Harvard/MIT. Additionally, they participated in the Executive Leadership Development Program at the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business.
